Bing has teamed up with Sprint Mobile to bring voice-recognition search feature to one of Sprint’s not so well know mobile phone – the Sprint Intrepid with voice interface through Tellme app. While this maybe a feature which Google has long introduced to the Android phone and even on the iPhone, one thing that’s unusual with the Bing-Sprint partnership is the fact that it also allows voice-to-text functionality. There’s a long explanation of this voice search feature posted at the Bing community blog. Actually, they really don’t have to explain it that way as we can easily see that this is nothing but a copy cat of Google’s voice search capability.
But of course, we must also give credit to Bing’s effort in pulling out this feature. Voice-enabled search is certainly very useful for people who are always on the go.
The new Bing feature makes good use of Tellme as it features easy-to-use interface wherein you just need to press a button and starts speaking what you want to search.
